There are many hikes available from www.greaterziontours.net during the hot summer months in southern utah. The high elevations mean hard to find cool days and occasionally you are rewarded with a wildflower bloom and late summer the color on the trees begin to change. May hikes to choose from including waterfalls, cinder cones, scenic views and much more. St George area to Cedar Breaks and Dixie National Forest is around an hour so a day trip is very easy without having to leave early. Hidden gems await.

Restaurants to try in St George Area:

After a great day of hiking in St George you will be ready to fill your belly with some tasty food. Here are 5 we like and visit often:

Banana Blossom Thai food located at 430 E St George Blvd  www.bananathaicuisine.com - Pleasant Thai restaurant serving up standard Thai cuisine in downtown St George. Service has always been pleasant here and all your favorite Thai dishes are available. Tom Yum and Tom Ka make great to go snacks.

Tia Artisan Bakery 1812 W Sunset Blvd  www.tiasartisanbakeryandrestaurant.com - This is a German, Bulgarian, El Salvadorian Mexican bakery slash restaurant. Don’t try and understand it just go there and order anything. Taco Tuesday check Salvadorian Sundays what the what? You needn’t be an expert on Central American delicacy just take a chance.

Viva Chicken 1183 E 100 S www.vivachicken.com - Viva Chicken locations are primarily on the east coast but we are so happy they decided on St George. The perfect place to go for fresh and downright healthy food options. Serving mainly Peruvian chicken dishes this place is both fast and reasonably priced. My go to dish is either the Pollo a La Brasa or the Naked Peruvian wrap. If that wasn’t enough you can eat healthy while listening to music borrowed from a 10 year old Belgian rave and you don’t get that at Carl’s Jr.

Irmitas Mexican 95 W 700 S www.irmitascasita.com - Has been my go to to go choice during covid. Serving cuisine from Oaxaca and Hildago this restaurant has been around for 27 years in St George. Try the Mole Poblano Platter or the Big Torta Cubana.

Wood.ash.rye 25 W St George Blvd  www.woodashrye.com located inside the new and much needed Autograph hotel by Marriott. This place is exactly what was missing from St George. Elegant dining created by a kitchen who inspires! Tried this place as soon as it opened and has never been anything other than a great experience. Pleasant setting in both the dining or bar area with a full compliment of cocktails and wine list. Not in the mood for a meal they can serve you in the full bar just off the lobby. Small bar menu includes the incredible Pork Belly Watermelon and Duck Tacos and the dining room has an outstanding revolving menu. You are going to want to slurp up the togarishi aioli with a straw.

We have re started our fun and scenic Coral Pink Sand Dune 3 hour tour. Avoiding the heat of the summer, now is the time to consider another adventure to this incredible state park. Call Grand Circle Tours for more info.
Recent movement from the BLM office in St George suggests that there could be an increase in lottery permits available for both South and North Coyote Buttes. While nothing has been finalized we believe that there will be an increase in allowable hikers in each special management zone and this will make getting these locations a little easier than before. Stay tuned for updates!
